Abby began her career in mental health working as a counselor at a nonprofit counseling center where she provided individual and group therapy to clients across the life span. She has experience counseling clients across a wide range of presenting issues but finds particular enjoyment in working with grief and loss, anxiety, trauma & PTSD, life transitions, mild-to-moderate depression, career/vocational concerns, spirituality, and relationship issues. She is passionate about working with adults of all ages. 

 

Abby is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate in NC (#A16745). She has received a Master of Education in Human Development Counseling (Clinical Mental Health focus) as well as a Bachelor’s in Cognitive Studies & Child Development, both from Vanderbilt University. Additionally, Abby has completed specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).

 

As a counselor, Abby believes that people have deeply-rooted needs for wellness in many areas of life, such as emotional, physical, social, and spiritual wellness. She desires to create a safe and trusting relationship with clients where they can grow in each of these areas to experience greater wholeness and fulfillment. She practices using a collaborative approach that values each client's unique strengths, interests, and goals. 

 

In her spare time, Abby enjoys going to yoga classes, hiking, reading a good book, and trying new recipes with her husband. She is honored to walk with you on your journey towards hope, healing, and joy.
