Blakely is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (License #10051A) and received her Master’s degree in Christian Marriage, Family, and Individual Counseling from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Prior to that, she received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Nutrition from North Carolina State University. During graduate school, Blakely interned with Cornerstone Counseling and Wellness where she worked with children, adolescents, adults, and families. 

 

Therapeutically, Blakely uses elements of various counseling theories such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, and Family Systems with adolescents, adults, and families. She also used play therapy and art therapy with children. Blakely’s counseling reflects a holistic approach as she believes everyone is a psychological, physiological, and spiritual being. She works to understand the client’s unique situation, being able to walk alongside the client towards growth and healing. 

 

As a sibling of a childhood cancer survivor, Blakely has a heart to help individuals, couples, and families when suffering interrupts life's normal flow. Blakely's scope of practice includes, but is not limited to the following areas: marital/premarital counseling, family dynamics, anxiety, grief, chronic illness, OCD, relationship issues, life transitions, and trauma. Blakely is certified in Prepare/Enrich and Gottman Level 1 for premarital and marital counseling

Blakely is open to meeting with clients both in person and online. In her free time, Blakely loves spending time with her husband, drinking coffee, playing pickleball, serving at church, reading, and woodworking.
