Counseling Intern

Blakely is currently not accepting new clients

Blakely is a graduate student at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary studying to receive her master’s degree in Christian Marriage, Family, and Individual Counseling. She graduated from North Carolina State University with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Nutrition. 

 

Blakely enjoys working with children through the use of play therapy and art therapy. She also uses elements of various counseling theories such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and Family Systems with adolescents, adults, and families. Blakely’s counseling reflects a holistic approach as she believes everyone is a psychological, physiological, and spiritual being. She works to understand the client’s unique situation, being able to walk alongside the client towards growth and healing. 

 

As a sibling of a childhood cancer survivor, Blakely has a heart to help those in crisis. Areas of interest/experience also include trauma, depression, anxiety, OCD, relationship issues, and family dynamics. Blakely is certified in Prepare/Enrich for premarital & marital counseling. 

 

In her free time, Blakely loves playing pickleball, serving at church, reading, and woodworking.
