Lindsay Abbott

Counseling Intern

Lindsay is pursuing her Master of Clinical Mental Health at Liberty University. She received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Liberty University in 2018.

Lindsay grew up helping in her mom’s in-home daycare, taking care of the children who attended. For the last 17 years, Lindsay has worked at Duke University in various capacities. These experiences have allowed her to work with people from all different backgrounds and meet many people in different seasons of their lives. This has helped prepare her to be empathic, compassionate, and understanding for her career as a counselor.

Lindsay seeks to connect with her clients by providing a calming, nonjudgmental environment where trust is built so that her clients know they are cared for genuinely. Lindsay is passionate about helping clients identify and work toward their mental health, social, and spiritual goals. Lindsay recognizes that, to some clients, faith and spirituality are vital to
their healing and would happily integrate that into their counseling process. Lindsay acknowledges that everyone’s mental health is different and believes that counseling has to be tailored to each individual. Lindsay is interested in working with clients of all ages, from 5 years through adulthood, who are experiencing: anxiety, depression, career counseling, eating disorders, family conflict, grief, life transitions, marital/premarital, obsessive-compulsive, parenting, peer relationship, self-esteem, trauma, and PTSD.

In her free time, Lindsay enjoys spending time with her husband and two kids. Her hobbies include cooking, baking, crafting, and doing puzzles.
