Melissa Rodríguez is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in the state of North Carolina and a National Certified Counselor. She completed her advanced education in health clinical psychology and mental health counseling in both Spain and the United States.
Melissa has over 15 years of experience working in the areas of education and clinical mental health counseling including trauma, grief, eating disorders, abuse recovery, life transitions, immigration-related stressors, depression, anxiety, chronic illness, and addiction. She also has extensive experience counseling Hispanic/Latinx and Indigenous communities and their families.
In addition to providing counseling for adolescents 16+, adults, and couples dealing with a wide variety of issues, she utilizes evidenced-based approaches such as, CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy and (SIP) Spiritually Integrated Psychotherapy.
She is passionate about integrating different art modalities, such as music, literature, and cinema as part of the therapeutic process. After working hours, you can find her spending time with her family and friends, cooking, reading poetry, listening to music, dancing or at the beach.
