Brandy is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (#A18362) in North Carolina, bringing years of life experience and other professional qualifications to her counseling practice. She received her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. Before that, she graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology.
With almost 20 years of living cross-culturally in Eastern Europe (Slovakia), South Asia (India), and the United Kingdom (England), Brandy has a special interest in serving multicultural clients such as expats, missionaries, immigrants, and people of different ethnicities and cultures. Additionally, having traveled extensively, she has vast experience with multicultural awareness, contextualization, and cultural sensitivity.
Brandy’s education and training focused on an integrated approach that equipped her with clinical and Biblical counseling approaches. Upon request and as desired by her clients, she integrates faith, spirituality, and principles from the Bible to provide counseling from a Biblical perspective.
Brandy is trained in EMDR, a researched and effective modality of counseling. She also uses an eclectic approach to her counseling technique, which includes but is not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Metacognition, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Most of all, Brandy believes the therapeutic relationship that is client-focused brings about deep change in treatment. Brandy’s areas of interest include trauma, anxiety, depression, adjustment, and life transitions.
As a trained LiveWell Health coach (Revelation Wellness), fitness professional (ACE CPT & GFI), and nutrition coach (Precision Nutrition PN1-NC), Brandy is passionate about helping others live well, move well, and be strong and healthy. She works with clients with mild to moderate eating disorders, body dysmorphia, and other food and fitness-related issues.
Brandy calls Raleigh home, but her heart is in living cross-culturally. She finds joy in sharing coffee with others, moving in joy through exercise and walks, and being in nature. Most of all, she cherishes the time spent with her family and friends, especially her husband Gray and their 5 kids.
