A.J. is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology in 2022 from Liberty University.
Her current and past educational experience influence her work with various populations, particularly children, adolescents, and young adults. She views each person as a unique individual, and strives to understand each person’s situation. She believes the best way to do this is through building a strong therapeutic relationship which must start with trust and safety.

A.J. uses a variety of counseling theories including, but not limited to: Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy and Family Therapy. A.J. recognizes the importance of faith and spirituality, and is willing to integrate that into the counseling process upon request.

A.J.’s areas of interest include but are not limited to: depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, self-harm, emotional-dysregulation, life transitions, and family conflict. A.J. focuses on creating a space where clients do not feel judged and feel safe to be themselves so that they can successfully reach their therapeutic goals.
In her free time, A.J. enjoys spending time with her husband and her two children. They love traveling to the beach and to the mountains - which is why North Carolina is a great place for them to call home! She also serves in her local church’s children’s department where she loves to teach, play and sing with the four-year-olds.
