Heather is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Associate (#A18515) in North Carolina, bringing experience and education to her counseling practice. Her academic background includes a Master of Arts (MA) in Counseling from Concordia University, Irvine, and an undergraduate degree in Psychology earned in 2015. These foundational studies have equipped her with the necessary knowledge and expertise to support individuals and couples facing various mental health challenges.


Her professional journey, including roles as an entrepreneur and hospice liaison, has added valuable dimensions to her understanding of people and their unique experiences. Heather's ability to draw from her life experiences enriches her approach to counseling, allowing her to connect with clients on a deeper level.

Heather's specialized focus revolves around helping couples navigate relational challenges assisting individuals struggling with anxiety, and depression, establishing relational boundaries, and cultivating an inner dialog of self-compassion. Her person-centered approach, anchored in evidence-based techniques like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), emphasizes creating a comfortable and safe environment for clients to share their stories.

Furthermore, Heather has pursued additional training in relationship therapy, holding certifications in the Gottman Method Levels 1 and 2 as well as completing the International Centre For Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT) EFT externship. She is actively working towards becoming a Certified Grief Counselor through the American Institute of Healthcare Professionals (AIHCP), showcasing her dedication to continual growth and expertise in the field.

Heather's approach to counseling emphasizes empathy and self-compassion, helping her clients build trust and transform negative communication patterns in relationships. Outside of her counseling work, Heather cherishes quality time with her family, including her husband, son, and beloved Boxers. Her interests in hiking, boating, camping, and spending time with friends underline her passion for building connections and finding joy in life.
